On 9/3/2020, Human Rights Watch released a 99-page report documenting and responding to police abuses at the #FTP4 protest in the Bronx on 6/4/20, including the arrests of over a dozen NLG-NYC Legal Observers, along with a video produced by SITU/, that included a letter from the NYPD Legal Bureau stating, among other things, that National Lawyers Guild Legal Observers were NOT exempt from the Mayor’s recent curfew.
The NLG-NYC Legal Observers who were detained have been represented by Elena Cohen, Moira Meltzer-Cohen, Jessica Massimi, Gideon Oliver, Martin R. Stolar and Jonathan Wallace.
